Made in NZ from sustainably harvested tulip wood, has two pāua eyes and comes on a stand ready for display when not in use.
The Koauau is generally referred to as the “Maori Flute”. The pierced holes are able to produce melodious notes making tunes of original Maori songs. Only tribal chiefs are said to have possessed these instruments and when not being played they were worn suspended as pendants from the owner’s neck.
